Fishing buddy

My son is off on a fishing trip this weekend and was excited to get his first fly fishing pole. A early birthday present he could use before the winter rain. But when we were at the shop, the guys there were really nice and informative. Inspiring actually. If I had enough cash, and nothing to do, I would have got myself a set up. And as I am working on the strip, I go through writers block. I will often try to lay down and clean the brain, maybe hit drudge report for ideas, or try to remember something going on in the past few days. But when I get in the writers block, I am forcing myself to do mindless stuff. Today, it was sweeping the deck. My wife says we need a blower, I could be done in minutes. But there is something about even the “moment’ of sweeping that helps clear my thoughts. I needed that time. I HATE to sound all mystical and Zen like, so I will westernize it. I got in the zone. And there will often be people, who don’t get it. But you may not get what they do either.

I am pretty happy about this as I assume this means you will be sweeping the deck more often ;P
