I must confess, this one really stumped me. I saw Clint dancing in my mind, so I decided to just draw it, hoping a gag would come out. There is just something soooo fun about Clint dancing! I was drawing him well before we got Tater, our Corgi/ terrier mix, and the more I play with Tater, the more I see Clint, the ambiguously straight dog. I call Tater my  Thai Lady Boy.

I rarely do “homage” type stuff to people. But Maurice Sendak was amazing.

Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday of May! Find a local shop and go see what they are giving away. Lots of shops have comic creators hanging out all day doing sketches and promoting their work. My favorite shop is here, The Comic Stop in Lynwood, Wa.

I’m revving up for a VERY BUSY couple of months. A few small projects, but also a really cool spot over at Xbox/Kinect. All I can say till the title ships is this, “I’m creating a visual language”. But lets just say my mind was blown. I may even need to get an xbox. I was also pleasantly referred to as, “the bad ass with all the cartoons“. So as far as the game goes.. that is all. NDA!

I am also excited about a couple others series of work. One being aliens, the other, Bible pics! Loads of fun.

Got delayed in the strip. I was working out some gags and changed my mind. While at a local AM/PM getting some gas, I caved to the advertising of their hot dogs. I am a sucker for a cheap dog. Mostly as a vehicle for mustard.

What? Why yes, I DO have a facebook page!

Oh, and at this rate, I may hit strip #300 soon! I must think of something clever to do for a celebration.

I don’t know if it has been the recent trips to dog park, but all the writing I am doing involves Clint. And I noticed he is looking more and more like my dog, Tater. And this little strip is a homage to  Snoopy, always typing a great story starting with “It was a dark and stormy night”. This is a new millenium. The blogosphere is where it’s at!

Working hard to get a comic stock pile going. That way, I can at least update 3times a week. Thank you all who have been VERY supportive of the strip. I can’t really thank you enough.

Woot!  A new strip! I had a GREAT time at Emerald City Comic Con, and got some really encouraging feedback on the strip and my illustration work. This year, I went as “Drew the Illustrator” and not just Pokeweed. It went over well. But I learn each time how to improve on the next. Very excited about ECCC ’13!

Things are ramping up for me in a good way, but I am making Pokeweed a goal to keep moving. I have some very capable people interested in helping me clean up the site  and I also started a new phase of the strip. Every so often, I get the itch to change and hopefully grow. Now, Pokeweed is going to be done in spectacular “Grayvision”!

Here goes my  sad song. I can’t tell you how much work I have going on right now, so the strip is soooooooo behind. Sorry, but I hope you will hang in there with me. Getting pumped for ECCC, but have LOTS of illustrations for Mars Hill kids, logos, more illustrations, lots and lots of alien art and working on art licensing stuff now. Oh, and I test for Black Belt in TKD next week. Yowza.

I don’t listen to much radio stuff. I have become jaded and hate most mainstream music. But I was playing radio roulette, I found a song I though my son would hate. So as I pulled up to pick him up, I had it blaring. Yeah, it was Kelly, and it had a decent sound. But the basic concept was Nietzsche. Very far off from my love for 80′s new wave and alternative stuff. I have found myself realllly liking stuff like VnV Nation and other BME music. But the other night, I saw Die Antwoord. The bass was so heavy, and the layers of other sounds blew me away. It was some of the most creative stuff I have ever heard, or even felt at some points. My clothes were vibrating. It was a good creative break through for me.
